Our HVAC went out for the third time in 3 years after the system was replaced twice under a home warranty. The previous company botched the job so bad we were unsure what to do and who we could trust. I called Scott Walker Heating and Air and they were able to send a technician the next day to evaluate the issues. They were quickly able to determine our system had completely lost all refrigerant. This left us with a choice of either replacing the refrigerant for the third time in 3 years or replacing the system. The technician, John, worked with us to describe in intimate detail all of the problems we’d had with the HVAC since we moved in. He described issues we had with the system blowing too hard, not keeping the house cool/warm, and how it was generally uncomfortable all the time. Given his attention to detail and willingness to explain his craft, we decided to have our system replaced. We signed the paperwork for 0% financing over 60 months and we were scheduled for an install less than two days later. John and his team worked over two days to make sure everything was in complete working order. On the second day, he was called to another site and, as a result, he elected to return a third day for a quick visit to inspect everything and verify the thermostat controller was configured properly. The team was very polite and worked to keep the areas they touched clean behind them. I ended up feeding them through lunch the second day out of appreciation for their hard work. All of these things being said, the quality and efficiency is what I would expect out of a company doing work like this. But it doesn’t stop there. During one of the days that the team was onsite fitting the install, I mentioned to John about the air quality in our living room. It has high ceilings that extend to the second floor and is generally not comfortable. We normally keep the ceiling fan on all the time to try and help air flow but it never seemed to do the trick. John and I began discussing the type off vents installed at the register in the living room and how replacing them with something else would help move air up and around the room instead of throwing it down into the room. The last day during his inspection, John brought two new registers with him to replace the ones we’d discussed. I was absolutely floored. I originally assumed it was just casual conversation leading up to a potential sales pitch, but no. He was genuine and considerate and this simple act set Scott Walker Heating and Air apart from any other contractor I’ve ever worked with. My wife and I are extremely happy with the system that was installed, with the quality of work, and speed at which it was completed (it was quite a bit of work). Now we don’t even recognize that the HVAC is running. There is absolutely ZERO fluctuating of temperature in the house in ANY room, and it’s the MOST comfortable we’ve been since we moved in. On top of all of that, our electric bill has dropped because the system is so efficient. We had some unusual noises with our a/c and called Scott Walker our heating and a/c company of choice. They were extremely responsive and came out the next day exactly when they said they would be there. Two technicians came and they went above and beyond taking care of an unrelated problem that could have been a very pricey event left unfixed. We were not charged extra for that. Tom and Connor were excellent. Highly recommend. Arrived early and quickly diagnosed problem. Fixed problem and educated me along the way. Very knowledgeable.
